JASHORE — A man in Chougachha upazila of Jashore gouged out the eye of a goat that grazed on his land, the goat’s owner said in a complaint to police.
Arzo Ali Mondal, son of Usman Mondal of Chandpara village in Narayanpur union of the upazila, gouged out the goat’s eye over its grazing, the complaint said. The incident took place Sunday afternoon.
The goat’s owner filed a written complaint at Chougachha police station.
According to the complaint, a goat belonging to villager Rinku Khan entered Arzo Ali’s dragon fruit field that afternoon and grazed there. Enraged, Arzo Ali gouged out the goat’s right eye. After learning what happened, the owner recovered the goat with the help of local people and took it to Chougachha veterinary hospital for treatment. After the goat was treated, he filed the written complaint at Chougachha police station.
“If the allegation is true, legal action will be taken against him,” said investigating Sub-Inspector Golam Kibria.
“This is an inhuman act, and the offender will not be spared,” said Mamunur Rashid, officer-in-charge of Chougachha police station.
