TEHRAN — More than 125,000 civilian sites in Iran were damaged in the war, the Iranian Red Crescent Society said.

Pirhossein Kolivand, the head of the organization, told Iranian state television that 125,630 civilian sites had been damaged nationwide. “Of those, nearly 100,000 are residential, and parts of some have been completely destroyed,” he said. “In addition, 23,500 commercial sites that served as livelihoods for ordinary people were damaged.”

He said 399 medical facilities, including hospitals, pharmacies, laboratories, health centers and emergency service centers, had been damaged. “There has been extensive damage to educational institutions as well. A total of 875 educational centers and schools and 32 universities were targeted,” Kolivand said.

Twenty Red Crescent facilities were also damaged, he said. “Twenty sites such as Red Crescent branches, bases and warehouses were directly targeted,” he said.
