Nine more people have died of dengue fever, the disease carried by the Aedes mosquito, in the country in 24 hours, from 8am on Monday to 8am on Tuesday. That brings the total number of deaths this year to 316.
In those 24 hours 1,954 new dengue patients were admitted to hospital. The total number of dengue patients admitted to hospital this year now stands at 103,396. Of them, 97,296 have been discharged.
The information was given on Tuesday in a press release sent from the control room of the Directorate General of Health Services.
