Six more children die of measles symptoms in 24 hours

Six more children have died with measles symptoms across the country in the past 24 hours, taking the total death toll to 803. In the same period, 133 new confirmed measles cases were recorded and 1,037 people were hospitalized with measles or its symptoms.

The information came in the Directorate General of Health Services’ regular measles report on Wednesday, July 22.

From March 15 to Wednesday, a total of 803 people have died of measles or its symptoms nationwide — 708 with measles symptoms and 95 from confirmed measles. A total of 103,078 people have been hospitalized with measles symptoms, of whom more than 99,000 have recovered and been discharged.

In the past 24 hours, 133 people were confirmed with measles, taking the total to 14,841, while measles symptoms were found in 904 people. Since March 15, the number of patients showing measles symptoms has reached 120,352.
