Police arrested six members of an inter-district robbery gang in connection with a burglary in Narail’s Naragati police station area. The suspects operated under the cover of their professions as goldsmith, mason, and earth-cutting laborer, using aliases while committing robberies across multiple districts.
They were sent to jail through court on Sunday (July 5) afternoon.
Narail police superintendent Mohammad Al Mamun Shikder said the six were arrested during a three-day operation from Friday to Sunday across Narail, Gopalganj, and Khulna districts. Stolen gold jewelry and other items were recovered.
The arrests stem from a June 8 robbery in which the gang entered Salahuddin Khan’s home in Pakhimara village at 2am, stole gold jewelry at weapon-point, and fled after tying up Salahuddin and his son Ashikur Rahman.
The suspects face multiple robbery and theft cases across Narail, Gopalganj, Khulna, and Bagerhat districts. Police recovered melted gold jewelry based on their confessions.
