Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami has held a workers’ conference in Jagadishpur union of Chougachha upazila in Jashore. The conference was organised on Monday afternoon at the Swaparajpur Dakhil Madrasa ground on the initiative of the union unit of Jamaat.
The event was chaired by the president of Jagadishpur union Jamaat, Dr Mahbubur Rahman. The Amir of upazila Jamaat, Maulana Golam Morshed, attended as chief guest.
Others who spoke included the naib-e-Amir of upazila Jamaat, Maulana Nurul Islam; assistant secretary and journalist Rahidul Islam Khan; Maulana Abdur Rahman; Maulana Rawshan Jamil; Maulana Ammadul Islam; and Maulana Abul Hashem.
In his address as chief guest, Maulana Golam Morshed said Jamaat-e-Islami would take part in the coming union parishad elections by fielding candidates for chairman and member in every union of the upazila.
