Maritime trade between Iran and Qatar has resumed after a five-month suspension, Iran’s commercial adviser in Doha Abbas Abdolkhani told state media on Sunday (July 5).

Last month’s interim agreement between Tehran and Washington declared an end to hostilities after four months of conflict and ordered a return to pre-war maritime navigation in the Gulf, though disputes over Gulf passage remain.

Abdolkhani said shipping between Iran’s Dayyer port and Qatar’s Al-Ruwais port has resumed following coordination between the Iranian embassy in Doha and Qatari authorities.

The two ports, located on opposite sides of the Gulf, are primarily used for regional trade. Dayyer port was targeted multiple times during the conflict.
