Chhatra Dal and Islami Chhatra Shibir leaders appeared together at a July Uprising Day program at Begum Rokeya University in Rangpur on Wednesday, following two days of clashes and tension.
The university administration organized a celebratory procession and tree-planting program attended by the vice chancellor, teachers, students and leaders and activists from both student organizations.
Participants planted trees in memory of those killed in the uprising despite rain.
At least 20 people were injured in clashes between the two organizations several days earlier, according to the report. Their joint appearance helped ease fears of further tension, and the groups and university administration said they hoped to preserve coexistence, peace and unity on campus.
