Iran has fired multiple ballistic missiles at a US military installation at the Prince Hassan Air Base in Jordan. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) claimed that the strikes destroyed the US air base’s command center, infrastructure and an MQ-9 Reaper drone hangar.

The IRGC said on Sunday that the attack had been carried out to retaliate for US strikes on a coastal base and a telecom tower in southern Iran.

The IRGC said it had struck the air base’s military infrastructure as “a firm response to the US attack.”

In a statement, the IRGC said Iranian forces had thwarted an attempt to send several ships through an unauthorized route south of the Hormuz Strait, after which US forces carried out air strikes on a coastal base and a telecommunications tower in southern Iran.

The statement said: “The criminal US regime, imposing its will on the Sultanate of Oman, tried last night to test something that has already been tested.” It warned that if US aggression continued, an “even harsher response” would be given.
