This time the amount collected in the donation box stood at Tk 12,87,444. Along with the cash, various gold ornaments offered as vows, a gold spoon and Indian and Malaysian currency were also found.

Mosque committee president and Manda Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Laila Anjuman Banu said the money and gold ornaments from the box would be accounted for transparently and spent on the mosque’s maintenance, development work and religious activities. The local administration, she said, was always active in preserving the heritage of this historic archaeological monument.
