Former Israeli prime minister Ehud Barak has called for a civil disobedience movement against the cabinet of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
According to IRNA, Barak called for a strong movement against the current political direction and for widespread civil disobedience against the current cabinet led by Netanyahu.
The former Israeli prime minister said the cabinet’s refusal to accept the Supreme Court’s ruling is not merely a legal dispute but amounts to a declaration of war by a cabinet — one lacking the competence and capability to manage such matters — against Israel and its constitutional and judicial institutions.
Barak warned of the serious consequences of this dispute for the future of internal security and stability.
The former Israeli prime minister’s call against Netanyahu’s cabinet comes at a time of intense internal conflict within Israeli governance in recent days, driven by failures at various levels — particularly the adverse outcomes of wars instigated across the region under the Israeli cabinet.
