Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami secretary general Mia Golam Parwar has called on party leaders to play a constructive role in addressing the country’s internal and external challenges, strengthen their moral foundations and exercise caution on social media.

He was speaking as chief guest at a three-day training camp for the Rangpur-Dinajpur region, held at a venue in Saidpur, Nilphamari. The camp was chaired by Jamaat assistant secretary general and regional director Mawlana Abdul Halim.

Addressing the 11-party alliance’s program, Parwar said the current government has shown reluctance in implementing the mandate of the referendum in which 70 percent of the people voted. In response, the alliance has called for a road march and a grand rally in Dhaka in November to press for implementation, he said, urging local coordination with the 11-party coalition.

He called on leaders to prioritize public welfare, exercise tolerance in handling disagreements and attend to family life alongside organizational responsibilities.

Subject-specific discussions at the camp were led by assistant secretary general Mawlana ATM Masum, central working committee member Mawlana Momtaz Uddin, central working committee member Professor Mahbubur Rahman Belal MP, and former central Shibir president Md Delowar Hossain.
