One more person died of dengue in the past 24 hours, the Directorate General of Health Services said on Wednesday (July 1). A total of 163 patients were hospitalized during the same period.
By division, the new hospitalizations included 46 in Barisal division (outside city corporation areas), 27 in Chittagong, 23 in Dhaka division (outside city corporations), eight in Dhaka North City Corporation, 17 in Dhaka South City Corporation, 14 in Mymensingh, and 24 in Khulna.
A total of 161 patients were discharged from hospitals during the same period, bringing total discharges this year to 5,793.
Since the start of 2026, a total of 6,267 people have been infected with dengue, of whom 62.2 percent are male and 37.8 percent female. Nineteen people have died.
In 2025, a total of 102,861 people were infected and 413 died. In 2024, the figures were 101,214 infected and 575 deaths.
