At least five people have been killed in a sudden shooting in the northern German town of Stade, and police have detained one suspect, Reuters reports. German police said on Monday that the motive for the attack was not yet clear and that an investigation was ongoing.
Local media reported that the attack took place at a youth centre in the centre of Stade, a town of about 50,000 people west of Hamburg.
Some media reported multiple attackers, but police did not immediately confirm this.
