PM Tareque Rahman hands jobs to 10 from July uprising martyr and injured families

Prime Minister Tareque Rahman has handed appointment letters to 10 members of families of those killed and injured in the July uprising.

The prime minister handed the job appointment letters to family members of those martyred and seriously injured in the 2024 mass uprising at the Prime Minister’s Office in Tejgaon on Saturday afternoon.

Deputy Press Secretary to the Prime Minister, Hasan Shiplu, said this.

Those who received appointment letters were: Sabina Akter Rima, wife of martyr Md Sohag; Razia Khatun, wife of martyr Md Shahriar; Afsana Akter, wife of martyr Md Abdullah Kabir; Aklima Akter, wife of martyr Md Mostafa Kamal Raju; Sumaiya Akter Suborna, wife of martyr Md Juwel; Samia Islam Popy, sister of martyr Miraj; Hafiza Akter Happy, wife of martyr Ahsan Kabir; Farzana Akter Rani, wife of martyr Omar Nurul Absar; Sabana Akter, wife of the seriously injured Md Abdul Matin; and Mosa. Arju Akter, wife of the seriously injured Md Zulfikar Alam.

The deputy press secretary said the prime minister handed the appointment letters to members of the July martyr and injured families, spoke with them and inquired about their families.

Recalling people’s sacrifices at various times from the 1971 Liberation War to the July 2024 movement, Prime Minister Tareque Rahman said: “The main aim and purpose of all these sacrifices was to build a better Bangladesh, where the country’s people can live better lives.”

The prime minister said: “Behind the sacrifices of all those we have lost, those who were physically injured or otherwise harmed, there was one aspiration — to make Bangladesh better.”

Noting the various limitations of the state and government, the prime minister said: “Even within limitations, the country must be moved forward in line with reality. What we got is not the biggest thing; rather, what we could give the country is what matters. If we can move forward gradually with this goal in mind, it will be possible to build the Bangladesh we want in the days ahead.”

The prime minister said efforts would continue to properly value the sacrifices of those martyred and injured in the July movement.

Also present were Fatema Tuz Zohra, mother of martyr Abdullah Bin Zahid who recently joined a job, and injured July fighter Soheli Tamanna, who also met the prime minister.

Members of martyr families and injured July fighters expressed gratitude to the prime minister on receiving their appointment letters, the deputy press secretary said.

Also present were the prime minister’s additional press secretary Atikur Rahman Rumon and Amra BNP Paribar member-secretary, agriculturist Mokshedul Momin Mithun.
