A Russian national working at the Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant in Pabna’s Ishwardi died Tuesday night, sources said. He died around 8 p.m. in Unit 84 on the 8th floor of Building 21 of the Green City residential complex.
Latipov Vil, 42, worked for Rosenergoatom, the Russian contractor at the Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant.
Local sources said colleagues found him in his apartment in critical condition Tuesday night. After authorities were informed, a doctor arrived and declared him dead. The cause of death was not immediately known.
Ishwardi police station officer-in-charge Md. Ashadur Rahman confirmed the death. Police visited the scene after being informed, he said, and an inquest report has been prepared. The body is being prepared for autopsy after legal formalities. An investigation into the cause of death is under way.
