Police have recovered the body of a teenager named Parvez, 17, from a pond in Balliadangi upazila, Thakurgaon, three days after he went missing. The body was recovered from a pond near his home on Friday afternoon.
Parvez was the son of Anwar Hossain of Charol village in the upazila.
Parvez’s mother, Parveen Begum, said he left home last Tuesday carrying six thousand taka and had been missing ever since. On Friday morning, locals spotted a body floating in the pond and informed police, who recovered it. The body was later identified as Parvez’s.
Bulbul Islam, officer-in-charge of Balliadangi police station, said the body had been sent to the morgue at Thakurgaon Sadar Modern Hospital for post-mortem examination, and that the actual cause of death would be known once the report was received.
