Iran has warned that if US aggression continues, not a single drop of oil or gas will be allowed through the Strait of Hormuz. Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said the strait would not be safe as long as US “aggression” in its region continued, warning that no petrochemical products — “not even a drop of oil or gas” — could pass through the route safely.
On Monday the IRGC also claimed that two oil tankers had exploded and been disabled while trying to pass through the unsafe southern route of the Strait of Hormuz. It alleged that the US military had encouraged the vessels to use the route. The statement, however, gave no information on the tankers’ names, flags, crew members or any possible casualties.
Reuters said it could not immediately verify the claim independently. The IRGC also warned the US military to be ready for “punitive operations.”
