Four arrested in Chuadanga, including accused in anti-discrimination movement case

Police have arrested four people in Chuadanga’s Jibannagar, including one accused in a case related to the anti-discrimination student movement. They were detained in raids across various areas of the upazila on Wednesday (10 June). Among those arrested is Mohammad Tariqul Islam, vice-president of the Andulbaria union Jubo League; police said he is an FIR-named accused in a case related to the anti-discrimination student movement.

In separate anti-drug raids, three more people were arrested: Alamgir Mondal (30), Md Akram Hossain (29) and Md Akher Ali (55). They were shown arrested in cases filed at Jibannagar police station under the Narcotics Control Act. According to police sources, the four were detained in raids conducted on the basis of secret information, and after the necessary legal process they were sent to court.
