US President Donald Trump has called for a quick end to the new conflict between Israel and Iran in the Middle East. In a post on his social-media platform Truth Social on Monday, Trump wrote that Israel and Iran must immediately stop attacking each other. In the same post, he said the existing blockade would remain in place until a final settlement is reached. “The blockade will remain fully in effect until there is a final agreement. But I expect things to move quickly,” Trump said. His remark came at a time when, for the first time since the recent ceasefire, attacks and counter-attacks had again occurred between Israel and Iran.
