Pakistan’s government has allowed the export of fresh Bangladeshi pineapples to Pakistan. The Bangladesh High Commission in Islamabad gave the information in a press release on Friday (7 August).
The opportunity was created through years of continuous communication and necessary measures among the Bangladesh High Commission in Islamabad, the Deputy High Commission in Karachi, the Department of Agricultural Extension, the agriculture ministry and the foreign ministry, and the relevant Pakistani agencies and authorities, the High Commission said.
There is strong demand for Bangladeshi pineapples in Pakistan. The opening for pineapple exports has paved the way for expanding the import and export of other agricultural products and fruits and for boosting trade between the two countries.
