Remittances of 33.44 billion dollars came in up to 6 June of the 2025-26 fiscal year, against 28.37 billion dollars in the same period of the previous fiscal year. The remittance inflow is in a strong position this fiscal year. From July 2025 to 6 June 2026, expatriate Bangladeshis sent home 33.44 billion (3,344 crore) US dollars — 17.88 percent more than the same period of the previous fiscal year.

According to the latest Bangladesh Bank data released on Sunday, remittances of 33.44 billion dollars came in up to 6 June of the 2025-26 fiscal year, against 28.37 billion a year earlier. Between 4 and 6 June 2026, expatriates sent home 203.2 million US dollars through legal banking channels, reflecting migrant workers’ continuing contribution to the country’s foreign-exchange reserves. In the first six days of June, total remittances came to 683.4 million dollars; although the figure was 862.59 million in the same period last year, officials say the overall picture is very positive because of the steady growth in remittance inflow across the fiscal year.

Economists say the steady rise in remittance inflow is positive for the country’s economy, helping to strengthen foreign-exchange reserves, meet import costs and maintain macroeconomic stability amid global economic uncertainty. The latest figures again prove that remittances are one of the main foundations of Bangladesh’s economy, providing important support to the livelihoods of millions of families and playing a significant role in increasing the country’s overall economic stability and resilience.
