Saddam Hossain, a July fighter from Feni, is on a hunger strike to the death in front of the National Press Club in the capital over seven demands, including justice for extortion demands, the seizure of his restaurant, being forced to dance, being filmed naked and repeated attacks.

His mother joined the hunger strike on Sunday morning (18 October). He has been on hunger strike since Saturday morning (17 October).

“I have taken my demands to everyone from the home minister to the prime minister, and to Rafiqul Alam Majnu, the MP for Feni-1,” Saddam Hossain said. “I also told Iqbal Bhat, son of Professor Joynal Abedin, the MP for Feni-2. But I got no solution. Instead they harassed me again and again. When I tried to recover my seized shop, they threatened me. I got no help from the administration either.”

“My condition is bad,” he said. “As time goes on my health is getting worse. I want my demands met quickly. I want justice against these people and my restaurant back, quickly.”
