Jamaat-e-Islami lawmaker Md. Nurul Islam asked the education minister about the creation of an assistant music teacher post in primary schools, querying the current status of the contested post created in primary schools under the Government Primary School Teacher Recruitment Rules 2025.
On Sunday, June 14, the Minister of Education and Primary and Mass Education, Dr. A.N.M. Ehsanul Haque Milon, told parliament in a written reply that the Cabinet Division had declined to approve the creation of the music teacher post in primary schools.
Various political and cultural groups have been voicing differing demands and positions on the recruitment of music teachers over the past several months.
