The tribunal has ordered that retired Major Mozaffar Hossain, an accused in the murder case of slain President Ziaur Rahman, be produced on July 23. International Crimes Tribunal-2 gave the order on Tuesday.
Earlier, Chief Prosecutor Md Aminul Islam applied to have him produced.
The chief prosecutor later told reporters that Mozaffar Hossain had close ties with Masud Uddin Chowdhury and used to travel to and from India. He is also involved in crimes against humanity and is under investigation, the prosecutor said. The application was made to produce him to be shown arrested in the tribunal case, and the tribunal granted it.
