A senior member of Yemen’s Ansarullah movement’s political bureau said U.S. President Donald Trump had been forced to retreat again because he feared Iran’s military capabilities.
In a report citing Tasnim, ParsToday said Ansarullah political bureau member Hizam al-Assad mocked what he described as Trump’s empty threats against Iran and repeated retreats. The report characterized the U.S. president as criminal and terrorist.
In a post on X, al-Assad wrote: “The criminal Trump’s recognition of one reality has forced him down the path of ‘peace.’ That reality is that the U.S. military position has become fragile, its bases have been destroyed and its air-defense capacity has diminished. Even so, Iran still has formidable capabilities to inflict significant damage on the Israeli regime, U.S. assets and interests, and the region’s energy infrastructure and resources.”
He added: “When the cost of conflict rises, the language of threats turns into the language of peace.”
