Prime Minister Tarique Rahman said primary school teachers’ salaries will be raised in phases, alongside training arrangements to improve education quality. He made the remarks during Wednesday’s (July 8) session of parliament.
Prime Minister Tarique Rahman said 12 million students at 65,000 government schools nationwide will receive school uniforms and bags.
He said only buildings were constructed in the education sector under the authoritarian Awami government, with no development of human resources.
On agricultural progress, he said closed agriculture-based factories will be reopened. The government has taken various initiatives to introduce modern technology into farming in place of traditional methods, he said, adding that the government would also export jackfruit to China.
The prime minister said the government plans to identify and bring to justice those involved in the stock market scandal under the previous Awami government. He said the capital market is recovering due to various government initiatives.
