A group in Chougachha, Jashore, attacked a man named Abdul Jabbar, 50, with a machete over a longstanding feud, breaking both his arms. The incident occurred last Friday morning in Bundolitola village, Narayanpur union, in the upazila.
The injured Abdul Jabbar is the son of Abdul Khalek Biswas of Bundolitola village.
The injured farmer, Abdul Jabbar, said that over a longstanding feud, Ramzan Ali of the same village, along with his son Rinku, 42, and Ripon Hossain, 38, attacked him.
He said: “They beat me severely with iron rods and a machete. Both my arms were broken as a result.”
He said local residents rescued him after hearing his cries for help and took him to Chougachha Upazila Government Model Hospital. His condition later worsened, and he was referred to Jashore 250-Bed Hospital.
He said: “Since my opponents are influential in the area, I have not been able to file a complaint at the police station. My family and I are currently living in fear for our safety.”
