Seven students in Shibganj of Chapainawabganj, Bheramara of Kushtia, Bakalia of Chattogram, Nakla of Sherpur, Muksudpur of Gopalganj and Shahrasti of Chandpur died after receiving SSC results between Monday (August 10) morning and Tuesday morning. Families are mourning their children.
In Bagmara, Rajshahi, 16-year-old Karina Pal died after learning she had failed chemistry and physics. Officials visited her family, and police filed an unnatural-death case. A teacher said failure was not the end of life and students could take the examination again.
In Shibganj, 16-year-old Halima Khatun died after reportedly ingesting poison after learning she had failed English. Hospital and police sources confirmed her death and said legal procedures were completed before her body was handed to the family.
In Bheramara, 16-year-old Tania Jahan died after failing two subjects. Police sent her body for post-mortem and filed an unnatural-death case.
In Chattogram, 19-year-old Adnanuzzaman Nihal died after failing five subjects. Police recovered his body and sent it for post-mortem; relatives said the death followed the result.
In Nakla, 16-year-old Diamoni Anti died after failing four subjects. Her family said she became distressed after the result. Police recovered the body and sent it to the morgue.
In Muksudpur, 17-year-old Abhi Biswas died after learning he had failed. Police prepared an inquest report and handed over the body after post-mortem.
In Shahrasti, Chandpur, Shamima Akter Munnie died after failing two subjects. There were conflicting accounts: some said she could not accept the result, while her family said she died of a stroke. An official urged students not to take such steps and to focus on their studies.
