FENI — Police and fire service rescued two children, aged 10 and 2, from their mentally unstable mother who held them hostage with a knife Monday night. The operation followed a neighbor’s emergency 999 call in Feni’s Madhupur area.
On Monday night, a resident of Madhupur called 999, reporting that a neighbor, mentally unstable, had locked up her two daughters, aged 10 and 2, and was threatening them with a knife. Despite efforts, neighbors failed to open the door. Hearing the children’s cries, they alerted police.
Constable Jannat received the call at the 999 center and immediately informed Feni Sadar Police Station and Feni Sadar Fire Station. Sub-Inspector Indu Jyoti Roy coordinated the response.
Upon receiving the report, a team from Feni Sadar Police Station and fire service rescuers quickly reached the scene. Considering the severity, they broke down the door and carefully restrained the mother, safely rescuing the children.
