The government has again raised consumer-level fuel prices. For the month of June, the prices of petrol, octane and kerosene have been increased by 5 taka per litre. The Energy and Mineral Resources Division had previously raised fuel prices on April 18.

The Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry announced the change in a notice on Sunday. It said that, to align with the rise and fall of fuel prices on the global market, consumer-level sale prices have been reset to 115 taka for diesel, 145 taka for octane, 140 taka for petrol and 135 taka for kerosene, effective Monday (June 1).

Under the Energy and Mineral Resources Division’s most recent notification of April 18, the consumer price of diesel had been set at 115 taka per litre and octane at 140 taka, while petrol was set at 135 taka per litre and kerosene at 130 taka.
