A rally against drugs and terrorism has been held in Lama, Bandarban. It was organised jointly on Thursday afternoon by the upazila Jubo Dal, the municipal Jubo Dal and the upazila Chhatra Dal. Held on the instructions of Jabed Reza, member secretary of the Bandarban district BNP convening committee, the rally raised slogans against drugs and terrorism. It went round several roads of the town and ended in a short discussion in front of the upazila parishad.
Among those taking part were Murshed Bin Omar, organising secretary of the Bandarban district Jubo Dal; Kashem, its vice-president; Shahidul Islam, member secretary of the district Chhatra Dal; Safayet Rashel, senior joint convener of the upazila Jubo Dal; Jamir Hossain, senior joint convener of the municipal Jubo Dal; and local leaders and activists.
Speakers at the discussion said everyone must play a responsible part in rooting drugs and terrorism out of society, and that families, society and political organisations must come forward to raise awareness and keep young people away from the dangers of drugs.
