Iran is ready to offer any kind of help to end the conflict between Saudi Arabia and Yemen, its foreign minister, Abbas Araghchi, has said.
He made the remarks in a statement published on his Telegram channel.
Meeting Egypt’s foreign minister, Badr Abdelatty, in Baghdad, Araghchi said the tension and conflict around Yemen over the past 12 years had shown that the crisis has no military solution.
The two ministers met on the sidelines of a meeting of foreign ministers of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). They discussed bilateral relations and the situation in the region.
In the statement, Araghchi blamed aggression by the United States and Israel for the insecurity in the Strait of Hormuz. He said the attacks that began on 28 February were still continuing in different forms.
Iran’s foreign minister also called on Muslim countries to act together to end Israel’s occupation of Palestinian land and the genocide against Palestinians.
