Hakimpur police have detained an Indian national, Ajit Kumar Ghosh, 42, with liquor in Hili, Dinajpur.
He was detained in the Madhya Basudebpur area of Hili at about 8:30pm on Wednesday (14 October).
Ajit Kumar Ghosh is the son of Grendranath of Madarganj village under Patiram police station in Dakshin Dinajpur district, India.
Confirming the detention, Md Badsha Alam, officer-in-charge of Hakimpur police station, said a police patrol was told on Wednesday that a drug dealer was waiting with drugs to sell beside Ganesh Babu’s rice-drying yard in Madhya Basudebpur. Acting on the tip-off, a patrol from Hakimpur police station raided the spot and detained the Indian national. Four bottles of Indian liquor, a mobile phone, an Aadhaar card and a passport were seized from a travel bag he was carrying.
He said the detained man was sent to a court in Dinajpur on Thursday.
