Dengue continues to spread in the country. Four more people have died of the Aedes mosquito-borne disease in the past 24 hours, bringing the number of dengue deaths this year to 335.
In the same period, 1,181 new dengue patients were admitted to hospitals around the country. That takes this year’s dengue hospital admissions to 1 lakh 8 thousand 440, of whom 1 lakh 2 thousand 210 have been discharged after treatment.
The figures were given in the Directorate General of Health Services’ dengue report on Friday. It said the admissions and deaths were recorded in the 24 hours from 8am on Thursday to 8am on Friday.
