With the monsoon active over the country, continuous rain or thundershowers may continue over the next five days in all divisions, including the capital, the Meteorological Department has said. It has forecast heavy to very heavy rainfall in places during this period, and said temperatures could fall somewhat as rainfall increases. The forecast was given on Sunday (19 July) by meteorologist Md Tariful Newaz Kabir of the Bangladesh Meteorological Department.
The department said that over the coming days, most places in the Rangpur, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions and many places in the Rajshahi, Dhaka, Khulna, Barisal and Chattogram divisions could see light to moderately heavy rain or thundershowers with temporary gusty winds, with heavy to heavy rainfall in places. From Wednesday (22 July) and Thursday (23 July), heavy to very heavy rainfall is possible in places in the Khulna, Barisal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions, with day and night temperatures falling slightly across the country.
