The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has asked for a progress report on recruitment to vacant grade 11 to 20 posts in civil surgeons’ offices and the health facilities under them, which come under the Directorate General of Health Services.

A letter to this effect was issued on 12 October by the Administration-1 branch of the Health Services Division. It asks the director general of health services, all divisional directors (health) and civil surgeons to send the information urgently.

The letter says that, to implement the “Health for All” policy, the government has decided to recruit 100,000 health workers across the country in phases. As part of this, effective steps are needed to fill vacant posts in grades 11 to 20, the former third and fourth class posts open to direct recruitment, in institutions under the directorate.

Civil surgeons’ offices have been asked for the date clearance was received, the number of posts cleared, the number of people recruited and the dates of recruitment. Where a post has not been filled, the report must give the reason.

The ministry’s letter instructs that the information be sent to the Health Services Division urgently, in the prescribed format.
