The month-long Amar Ekushey Book Fair, held in memory of the language martyrs, will begin on 7 January.
This was announced in a press release signed by Bangla Academy director general Mohammad Azam on Sunday (18 October).
The release said a meeting with publishers’ representatives on organising the Amar Ekushey Book Fair 2027 was held at 10:30am on 13 October in Bangla Academy’s Shaheed Munier Chowdhury conference room. Culture minister Nitai Roy Chowdhury chaired the meeting, attended by the ministry’s adviser Dr Zahed Ur Rahman and secretary Yasmin Begum.
On the unanimous decision of the publishers’ representatives, the fair was set to run from 7 January to 6 February 2027.
