Attorney General Barrister Md Ruhul Quddus Kazal has paid a courtesy call on President Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir.
The meeting took place at Bangabhaban on Wednesday (September 23).
The attorney general offered the president his warm congratulations and good wishes on taking office. He also briefed him on the overall work of the attorney general’s office in protecting the interests and legal rights of the state, and on the initiatives and steps it has taken.
The president called on this important state institution to keep working with dedication, professionalism and responsibility to uphold the supremacy and dignity of the constitution and to sustain the rule of law and the country’s democratic course.
The two also exchanged views on protecting the legal interests of the state, ensuring justice, safeguarding people’s rights and the effective functioning of constitutional institutions.
The president assured the attorney general of his full cooperation in carrying out his duties. The president’s press secretary was present.
