Several crude bombs exploded one after another near the Teacher-Student Centre (TSC) of Dhaka University on Sunday evening. Students and people at the scene detained two men on suspicion of involvement and took them to Shahbagh police station.
Earlier, a crude bomb went off in front of the university’s Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Building. Eyewitnesses said the two men set off several crude bombs in the TSC area and tried to flee. They were caught as they ran through the area next to the metro rail line, and people at the scene beat them.
It was not immediately known whether anyone was killed or injured in the blasts.
