The government has issued a notification awarding police medals to 92 members of the police. The names of those receiving medals in four categories were published in a notification issued on Monday by the police-2 branch of the public security division of the home ministry. It was signed by Nasrin Sultana, deputy secretary of the home ministry’s public security division.
The notification says the officers are receiving the Bangladesh Police Medal (BPM), the Bangladesh Police Medal-Service (BPM-Seba), the President’s Police Medal (PPM) and the President’s Police Medal-Service (PPM-Seba) in recognition of extraordinary courage, acts of bravery, service and praiseworthy contribution between March 1, 2025 and February 28 this year. One of them is receiving the Bangladesh Police Medal posthumously. The notification says the order takes effect from the date of its issue.
According to the notification, the government has finalised the names of 92 people in all for police medals: 12 for the BPM, 18 for BPM-Seba, 18 for the PPM and 44 for PPM-Seba.
