Saudi Arabia’s Civil Defence Organisation issued several warnings of possible danger for Mecca, Tabuk in the north-west, the Red Sea coastal areas including Jeddah and Yanbu, and the Taif region in the south.
Shortly afterwards, however, the organisation announced that the danger in those areas had passed and the warnings had been lifted.
The conflict between Saudi Arabia and Yemen’s Houthi movement and the forces it backs has intensified in recent weeks.
At the same time, various parts of Saudi Arabia have been targeted by the Houthis.
