Purchasing J-10 fighter jets from China is part of a deliberate government plan, Prime Minister’s Information and Broadcasting Adviser Dr Zahed Ur Rahman has said. He said that after reviewing various options from the US, Europe and China for buying modern multirole fighters, the Chinese option appeared comparatively advantageous for Bangladesh.
He made the remarks Tuesday while responding to reporters’ questions at a press briefing on the progress of various government initiatives, held at the secretariat.
Dr Zahed Ur Rahman said fighter jets with similar capabilities can be purchased at a comparatively much lower cost.
