All scheduled banks in the constituency will be closed tomorrow, Thursday 29 October, for voting in the by-election to the Thakurgaon-1 seat of the 13th parliament. Bangladesh Bank’s Supervisory Data Management and Analytics Department (SDAD) issued a circular to that effect on Wednesday, 28 October.
The circular says that, in line with the general holiday declared by the Ministry of Public Administration, all branches and sub-branches of scheduled banks in the constituency, including regional offices, will be closed on Thursday. Bangladesh Bank said the instruction was issued in the public interest under powers given by Section 45 of the Bank Company Act, 1991.
