The United Arab Emirates’ National Center of Meteorology has issued a red alert for dense fog and reduced visibility in southern parts of the country.

The warning was issued on Tuesday morning, along with a yellow alert. Abu Dhabi police urged motorists to use caution.

The center forecast generally clear to partly cloudy weather on Tuesday, November 3, but said dense morning fog could sharply reduce road visibility in some southern areas.

Abu Dhabi police advised drivers to watch electronic road signs for changes to speed limits.

Humidity is expected to increase in some coastal and inland areas from Tuesday night into Wednesday morning, bringing a chance of fog or light mist.

Temperatures across the country are forecast to range from 19 to 39 degrees Celsius. Lows may reach 26 degrees in Abu Dhabi, 27 in Dubai and 23 in Ras Al Khaimah.

Light to moderate southeasterly winds are expected to shift northwesterly and strengthen at times. Speeds will range from 10 to 20 kilometers per hour and may reach 35 kilometers per hour.

Seas in the Arabian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman are expected to remain calm, the center said.
