A two-year-old boy has drowned in a pond in Chaugachha, Jashore.
The incident took place at about 5pm on Thursday, November 5, in Ujirpur village of Pashapol union in the upazila.
According to local sources, the child fell into a neighbour’s pond on Thursday afternoon. He was pulled out and taken to Chaugachha Upazila Health Complex, where the doctor on duty declared him dead.
Sourav Sarkar, a doctor in the emergency department, said the child had died before he was brought to hospital.
Kazi Babul Hossain, officer-in-charge of Chaugachha police station, confirmed the death.
