The MPO committee of the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education (DSHE) has decided to bring 376 newly appointed teachers and staff at private schools and colleges under the Monthly Pay Order (MPO), the government’s share of their salaries and allowances. They are 272 at schools and 104 at colleges.
The decisions were taken on Thursday (5 November) at the November meeting of the DSHE’s MPO committee. Director General Professor Dr Khan Moinuddin Al Mahmud Sohel chaired the meeting by virtue of his office. Officials of the education ministry and nine regional directors and nine deputy directors of the DSHE attended.
Several officials who were at the meeting said the 272 school teachers and staff are from these regions: Barishal 17, Chattogram 5, Cumilla 8, Dhaka 40, Khulna 14, Mymensingh 33, Rajshahi 75, Rangpur 77 and Sylhet 3.
The 104 college teachers and staff are from Barishal 5, Chattogram 3, Cumilla 2, Dhaka 40, Khulna 14, Mymensingh 2, Rajshahi 34, Rangpur 13 and Sylhet 2. In addition, 1,594 people are being given the BEd scale and 5,474 a higher pay scale.
