Sixty-seven officers have been promoted from unarmed police inspector to assistant superintendent of police (ASP).
The home ministry announced the promotions in a notification on Thursday. The notification, signed by deputy secretary Tauchhif Ahmed, promotes the 67 officers.
The promoted officers must report to the senior secretary of the home ministry, and the order takes effect immediately, the notification said.
