DSE index falls, turnover at 545 crore taka

The price index at the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), the country’s main stock market, fell on the first trading day of the week. Turnover also declined, standing at 545 crore 27 lakh 68 thousand 308 taka.

A total of 204,341,869 shares and mutual fund units of 389 companies were traded through 178,103 trades at the DSE on Sunday. Of the companies that took part in trading, 20 saw their share prices rise, 348 fell, and 21 remained unchanged.

The DSE’s main index, DSEX, fell 103.64 points from the previous trading day to 5,558.45 points. The DSE-30 index fell 24.54 points to 2,116.20, and the DSES Shariah index fell 22.65 points to 1,115.36.

The top 10 companies by turnover at the DSE were Sharp Industries, Domex Spinning, Paramount Textile, Saiham Textile, Saiham Cotton, Texmaco Pharmaceuticals, Doreen Power, Envoy Textiles, Toufika Foods and Genex Insurance.

The top 10 gainers by share price were NLI First Mutual Fund, Ibne Sina Pharmaceuticals, AXL Insurance, AIBL First Islamic Mutual Fund, SIBL Mutual Fund, Phoenix Finance First Mutual Fund, IFIC First Mutual Fund, Advent Pharma, Southeast Bank and Envoy Textiles.

Meanwhile, the top 10 losers by share price were Alif Manufacturing, Sonargaon Textile, Doreen Power, Saiham Textile, Sharp Industries, Sonali Life Insurance, Sikder Politeck Industries, Alif Technologies, Meghna Petroleum and Information Services Network.
