Six people have died of dengue in the past 24 hours, taking the total number of dengue deaths this year to 201.
Over the same period 1,864 people with dengue were admitted to hospitals around the country. So far this year 67,367 people have been admitted with dengue.
The figures came in a dengue bulletin sent on Wednesday (September 23) by the health emergency operations centre and control room of the directorate general of health services.
It said that among the patients admitted with dengue in the past 24 hours, 178 were in Barishal division, 317 in Chattogram division, 405 in Dhaka division outside the city corporations, 173 in Dhaka North City Corporation, 179 in Dhaka South City Corporation, 280 in Khulna division, 113 in Mymensingh division, 156 in Rajshahi division, 59 in Rangpur division and eight in Sylhet division.
As of September 23 this year, 67,367 people across the country have been admitted to hospital with dengue. So far this year 62,117 dengue patients have been discharged after treatment, and 1,557 are currently in hospital.
From January 1 to December 31, 2025, a total of 102,861 people were infected with dengue and 413 died.
In 2024, from January to December 31, a total of 101,214 people were infected and 575 died.
From January 1 to December 31, 2023, a total of 1,705 people died of dengue and 321,179 were admitted to hospital.
